Finishes in Garrison, MN

Garrison, MN
February 27, 2011

The ORA Ice Oval Venue in Garrison, Minnesota was held February 26th & 27th. Trevor Fontaine placed 1st in Semi-Pro Champ and 2nd in Pro Champ 440. Trevor was "hot on the heels" of four time world champion P.J. Wanderscheid. Trevor said that "I hope to keep the heat on P.J. at our next race in Beausejour, Manitoba.".

The Hoglund boys, Max & Morgan were undefeated in six classes. Max won both the Pro Sprint 600 & Semi-Pro Sprint 600 classes. Morgan won his four classes in Sprint & Stock 380.

One of the more notable races for Hoglund Racing occurred at the end of the race day on Sunday. The Garrison Commercial Club sponsored a "dash for cash" race allowing any qualified driver to participate in a 25 lap non-stop race. The only rule, you cannot race a Champ class snowmobile. 1st place is $500 cash. Morgan Hoglund "stepped up to plate" and raced his brothers Pro Sprint, which he had never driven. Morgan got the "hole shot" on P.J. and the resto of the pack and led every lap with no red or caution flag to finish 1st. Even more astounding are Morgan's consistant lap times.

Max Hoglund raced his Pro Sprint 600cc Arctic Cat to 1st Place in the Pro Sprint & Semi Pro Sprint class. This race sled is new to Hoglund Racing for the 2010-2011 race season. Max said, “...the Arctic Cat handled very good and that I did not have to make any changes to the suspension.”.

Max also won the Pro Stock class aboard his 2011 Arctic Cat F-6. Mechanics Doug Fontaine and Mike Benoy believe that the 2011 F-6 chasis combined with the air adjustable shocks will make the F-6 a very efficient handling sled on the track.

Morgan Hoglund made his debut appearance aboard the Hoglund Racing Arctic Cat 600 JR II Sprint. Morgan won all of his heats and man-handled his JR II Sprint to a 1st place finish in the final round of competition. Morgan also finished 1st in JR Novice, 3rd in JR I Sprint, and 2nd in JR 1 Novice.
